8 MUST know tips to help you get back on track after the holiday’s!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I thought I would put these tips together to help get you back on track with your health and fitness goals and achieve all that you desire in 2018. I just know that this is going to be an amazing year and I have full faith that if you apply what I mention below that you can dominate this year and really start to get on top of your body goals.


Here are my 8 Must know tips to help you get back on track after the holiday’s…

  1. Don’t be afraid to lift HEAVY and be sure to mix up your reps and sets, aim for strength gains in the gym. Make sure you sort yourself out with a training program and stick to it for a good 6-8 week block!

  2. Base your goals around your performance (i.e how much you lift or how fast/far you run) rather than what you want the scales to say. 

  3. Give your body and muscles adequate rest, if you are sore in certain areas then let them rest and train another body part instead. Also give your body 1-2 FULL days rest per week.

  4. Carbohydrates are not the enemy and post workout is when you need them the most so make the most of your metabolic window and eat some complex carbs after your training sessions! 

  5. Try doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) as your cardio so short intense workouts for around 20-30mins. Do this 2-3 x per week, not much more as it places too much stress on your central nervous system!

  6. Sort your nutrition out. This is HUGE! Plan out your food for the week, do a big shop and prep your food. Cut the crap food (ie sugar) and make sure you are eating to fuel your body. What ever you do do NOT under eat and think that you need to cut calories to lose the extra weight! 

  7. Don’t become a victim to the number on the scale or counting every morsel of food that you eat. Try to understand that muscle is more dense than fat so you can still lose body fat when you are gaining lean muscle but the number on the scales may not be going down.

  8. Lastly try not to STRESS and beat yourself up. Your emotions and ‘self talk’ play a huge part in how you look, you work hard to keep fit and healthy so why should you spend your days beating yourself up! Take pride in who you are, not only in body but in mind and spirit as well! ?❤️
