It feels good to have a goal….

It has been a while since I have prepped for anything and I have to admit, it feels good to have a goal and be focused again. I am going to document my journey by blogging about it, not only to keep me accountable, but also to share with you what I am doing and how I am feeling etc.

I have around 8 weeks from today (21st Jan) until Penny Lomas and I fly up to the Gold Coast to shoot with Dallas Olsen. Penny and I decided together that we both needed a goal and couldn’t think of a more fun and exciting thing to do than to shoot with Dallas (and also because he is the best in the business).

After having 5 weeks off over Christmas and New Years in New Zealand I came back to Melbourne needing to clean my diet up and really get back into a good routine with my training. I trained when I was away but nothing structured, it was more so for my mind as I was eating and drinking loads more than normal and didn’t want to blow out completely haha!

I like to be healthy all year round and to me this means being able to have some downtime and enjoy the finer things in life. The older I am getting the more I love to drink the odd wine and enjoy time with  my friends, so for me it is important that I can prep for a shoot and still be able to LIVE. Gone are the days where I will sacrifice those things for a photo shoot or a competition, life is too short not to be enjoyed in my opinion. I will be on track with my macros through the week for this prep and on the weekends I will make sure that I have a nice meal out and enjoy some wine. Red wine has its health benefits anyway so I am sticking with that theory ha! 😉

I have been back into my usual training routine now for 2 weeks and if you look at the pics below you can already see a huge change in my body composition. When I got back from my holiday my face looked puffy and I was definitely looking more bloated and not as lean as I am today. It is amazing the difference that 2 weeks can make!!! I am still eating close to 2000 calories a day and most of those calories are coming from carbs and protein. I had my body comp done on Monday and I was sitting at 16.7% body fat and weighing in at 58.8kgs. I weighed myself today and I had dropped down to 57.9 but I am not really too focused on the weight as that can change daily. I am more so focused on leaning out a tad more and building a bit more muscle 🙂

My current training program is 3 x Strength sessions per week and 2 x RPM classes

Processed with MOLDIV
So that is where I am today, 8 or so weeks out. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!
